Founded in 1977, Volunteer Southwest Michigan is a locally based nonprofit that connects volunteers with worthy organizations in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties. We partner with more than 250 nonprofit and faith-based organizations throughout the year. And we want you to join us!

What We Do: Our primary mission is to recruit, train and place volunteers so they can use their diverse talents in service to our many local communities. We also help other nonprofits succeed by building their capacity to use volunteers effectively. Daily we engage skilled volunteers through our CASA program in the community. Finally, we participate in a wide range of strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers to meet urgent local needs.

Our Mission Statement: Volunteer Southwest Michigan promotes, supports and connects volunteers working to build a strong caring community.

Our Service Area: Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties

Volunteer Southwest Michigan serves the entire area, which comprises a total of 3,179 square miles with a population of about 285,000 people: All ages; virtually all backgrounds; all shapes and sizes. Our volunteers can be found from the shores of Lake Michigan in the west to the border of Kalamazoo County in the east; from South Haven in the north to New Buffalo in the south. (Donate Online)
